LaTivia Rivers currently serves the Manager of the Georgia Visitor Information Center in Columbus with the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Her primary goal is to assist travelers and help them learn more about things to do in Georgia, such as attractions, tours, parks and historic sites, restaurants and diners, and other similar activities that will promote spending more leisure time in Georgia.
Prior to joining GDEcD in May 2016, Mrs. Rivers had 20 + years in tourism serving as Vice President, Visitors Center Operations with the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau.
LaTivia is extremely active in the tri-city community. She has volunteered and served on the following committees: General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Phenix City Charter Review, Phenix City Mayor's Ball, Whitney M. Young, Jr. Awards Banquet, Kiwanis, Club Director's Board, and Honorary Chairwomen of the Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic Committee.
LaTivia is a graduate of Wallace Community College, and is presently attending Troy University. She is a graduate of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Columbus. Mrs. Rivers is also a Travel Marketing Professional (TMP) through the Southeast Tourism Society and a Georgia Certified Travel Counselor (GCTC).
LaTivia is resides in Phenix City, Alabama. For the last twenty years, she has been married to (Retired SSG) Douglas Rivers and they have one daughter, Raven Rivers.
